On the territory of the Vologda region pottery has been developing as small local workshops. The craftsmen usually had their shop near the deposits of good quality clay. Clayware was a common thing for local people, but with introduction of iron-and glassware, pottery practically disappeared. Through joint efforts of devoted craftsmen, the most ancient kind of folk art is being restored. Although their ways to the craft differ, they all have one thing in common: care for the past, creative endeavor and skills.
